
Wright imparts her experience and observations as a fellow participant during the Callaloo retreat in New Orleans LA on Mar 5-8, 2008. On the third and last day of the retreat, she noticed that her fellow participants, during Joseph Skerrett's presentation, are largely content to simply sit and listen. In his presentation, Skerrett offered a carefully nuanced scenario between content and form, the difficult yet undeniable dialogue always ready in place between the literal and literary, the historical and the aesthetic in both poetry and poetic analysis.
