23 English eng Richardson, Daniel C. Contributor <p>This article examines a Brazilian Portuguese translation of William Faulkner’s novel <em data-start="586" data-end="602">The Wild Palms</em>. It explores how linguistic, cultural, and stylistic elements from the original English text are rendered into Brazilian Portuguese. The study discusses challenges in capturing Faulkner’s complex narrative voice, cultural nuances, and existential themes in translation. It also analyzes how norms and expectations from the target culture influence translation choices.
