"Print, Writing, and the Difference Media Make: Revisiting The Signifying Monkey after Book History" reassesses The Signifying Monkey through the lens of book history and media studies. The article argues that African American literary scholarship should consider not only linguistic and textual practices such as signifyin(g) but also the material conditions of print, publication, circulation, and readership. It highlights how media forms shape the production, dissemination, and interpretation of Black literature.
